The tiny isolated community of Cape Dorset, Baffin Island has against all odds turned the making of art into a multi-million dollar co-operative business run by the Inuit townsfolk. An inside look at the co-op and how the hamlet has changed and evolved since the 1950's, and with it the artwork.
Particularly provocative, insightful and challenging is the work by the new younger generation of artists that documents daily living conditions and contemporary issues such as the introduction of technology and climate change. These artists are now gaining recognition along side their peers in the contemporary art world.
Featuring hauntingly beautiful Arctic scenery and evocative music by Tanya Tagaq, Lucie Idlout and other contemporary Inuit performers.
